Travelling Greek restaurant around Derby and Derbyshire this week
A popular mobile Greek taverna which tours the East Midlands will be stopping across Derbyshire this week to bring fresh authentic Greek cuisine to hungry customers.
Freshly grilled sourdough flatbreads, marinated chicken skewers and mouth-watering lamb kebabs are just some of the tasty delicacies on offer at the Travelling Taverna.
Using hot coals to cook the delicacies, the Greek mobile travelling restaurant offers a diverse range of dishes ranging from a selection of spit-roasted meats to the “Greek with no meat” vegetarian friendly section of the menu.
Founded by 12-year veteran in the food industry Konstantinos ‘Connie’ Eleftheriou of the Bubble Inn gastro pubs, the Travelling Taverna began in lockdown.
Speaking to DerbyshireLive last year Mr Eleftheriou said: “I had some grills in the shed, they were used occasionally for functions.
“So I put on a Christmas market, free for the vendors. I knew it would be busy. I provided the food myself, just kebabs, and it was crazy, with lots of people queueing. Then the Bull & Bush at Mackworth asked me if I’d do one outside their pub.
“In January, the Travelling Taverna was born”.
Each venue is open 4pm until 8pm, unless stated otherwise.
