Nottingham ranked one of most expensive places for a night out in the UK
Nottingham has been ranked as one of the most expensive places for a night out in the UK, analysis reveals.
The city ranks sixth out of the top ten for the cost of a night out on the town.
Research by vaping experts IndeJuice analysed data on the most populated areas in the UK on Expatistan to find where people can enjoy a night out at the lowest cost.
The analysis was based on prices for a pint of beer, a cocktail, a fast-food meal and a taxi fare.
In Nottingham, the average cost of a pint of beer is £3.99 and the average cost of a cocktail is £8.
The average cost of a fast food combo meal is £5.02 while the average cost of a taxi fare (travelling five miles) is £16.
This means the total average cost of a night out in Nottingham is £33.01.
Meanwhile, London, Oxford and Brighton are the most expensive cities in the UK for a night out and Dundee, Cardiff and Swansea were the most affordable.
Commenting on the study, a spokesperson from IndeJuice said: “As a result of the pandemic, the night-life industry has been hit hard with past restrictions, however as we return back to nightclubs and bars more regularly, this study offers a fascinating insight into the locations that offer the best deals.
“With the cost of a night out in London being almost double that of a night out in Dundee, party-goers in the capital will need plenty of money-saving savvy to have a good night that doesn’t drain their bank account.”
