Kura Revolving Sushi Bar now open in Alamo Quarry Market

A whole new dining experience has rolled into San Antonio with Wednesday’s opening of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in the Alamo Quarry Market. The new restaurant is located in the former home of Papouli’s Greek Grill.

Kura offers both bar and booth seating, both of which are serviced by the conveyor belt.

The automation and high-tech wizardry doesn’t end there. Drinks come to the table via child-size robots. And customers are encouraged to continue ordering through the restaurant’s Bikkura Pon Prize System, which dispenses a small gift for every 15 plates of food ordered.

While this is San Antonio’s first Kura location and the ninth in Texas, the brand has a large footprint both in the U.S. and abroad. Currently there are 36 Kura stores in the U.S. and more than 450 locations in Japan.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, 255 E. Basse Road, Suite 384, 726-208-0888, kurasushi.com, Facebook: @kurasushiusa. Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
